Beginnend mit dem gemäßigt anfangende Opener "Angel Slayer", der nach dem Intro "The Reaping Intro" erst im Verlauf voll aufdreht. "Realm Of Fire" fackelt daraufhin nicht lange, sondern kommt umgehend zur Sache - Blasts, eingängige Riffs, fiese Stimme. Einen Höhepunkt findet das Album im Doppelpack "Upon The Sacred Hill" und "The Hellrider": Das Riffing lässt die Atmosphäre dichtwuchern, finster aber eingängig. Weitere Highlights des Albums sind das melodische und dennoch harte "Shades Of Black", das eingängig stampfende "God Of Wrath" sowie das atmosphärische "Demons Enthral All Deceivers". Eine ganze Palette hervorragender Songs, die nicht nur in Sachen Stimmung äußerst morbide und bizarr herüberkommen, sondern darüber hinaus auch eingängig sind. Insgesamt ist "The Black Godess Return" ein solides Album, für welches eine Kaufempfehlung ausgesprochen werden kann.
